Your local locksmith in Alloa
Alloa is the county town and the largest place in Clackmannanshire, with the housing to match: Victorian and Edwardian property around the centre, large post-war and ex-council estates behind it, and newer building on the edges. We carry hardware to suit the range, so most jobs are finished in one visit rather than becoming a return trip for parts.
Locked out with someone inside. This is the call we treat differently from every other. If a child, an older relative or a pet is on the other side of a door you cannot open, say so the moment you call — it changes what we do, what we bring and how quickly we come. Two things are worth knowing before it ever happens. First, do not put a shoulder to the door. A forced door frequently ends up neither opening nor closing properly, and you can turn a lock problem into a door problem in one go. Second, if a young child has turned a key on the inside, they can very often turn it back if someone stays calm and talks them through it. If that does not work, that is exactly what we are for, and most doors open without any damage at all.
The older streets. Around the centre there is a good deal of property still on timber front doors. Insurers usually expect a five-lever mortice lock meeting BS3621 on a timber door, and plenty of these houses are on older two- or three-lever locks that would not meet that standard. Upgrading one is routine and does not change how the door looks.
The post-war estates. Almost all on replaced doors now, fitted at different times by different people, so what we find is uPVC and composite on multipoint locks of every make and age. When a gearbox needs replacing, the make can often be identified from a photograph but the size cannot: it has to come out of the door and be measured, which is why we carry a large stock of the common ones in a range of sizes.
Doors that have started to stick. The most common call across Alloa is a door that has to be lifted or leaned on before the key will turn — usually the door dropping rather than the lock failing, and far cheaper to correct before the gearbox goes.
Whatever the job in Alloa, you get the same promise: no call-out fee, no fix no fee, and a clear price agreed before any work begins.

Yes, Alloa is central to our Clackmannanshire coverage, and we serve the whole county including the Hillfoots towns.
No. There is no call-out fee in Alloa, and our no fix, no fee promise applies, we agree a clear price before we set off.

Tell us the moment you call, because it changes how quickly we come. Do not shoulder the door: a forced door often ends up neither opening nor closing properly, and turns a lock problem into a door problem. If a young child has turned a key on the inside, they can very often turn it back if someone stays calm and talks them through it. If not, that is what we are for.
Same answer, and please say so when you call rather than after we arrive. It is a common call and not one anybody needs to feel silly about.
Usually not. On most doors the aim is to open it without damage and leave the existing lock working, and drilling is a last resort rather than a first move. If a lock does have to be replaced we will tell you before we start, along with what it will cost.
