What we do not do

Stated plainly so nobody wastes a phone call:

No key cutting. We do not cut or supply keys.
No vehicle work. No car keys, no car lockouts.
No door entry or intercom systems. We work on the lock itself, not the entry system.
No door chains, viewers or limiters.
No out-of-hours call-outs.

How we charge

No call-out fee.
No fix, no fee.
The price is agreed with you before we travel. Every job, without exception.
Mileage is included, wherever you are in our area. Crieff and Carnoustie cost the same.
A quote is all-in and includes fitting.
Payment by cash, card or bank transfer, due on completion.
Overnight locks are fitted free of charge as a temporary measure where a permanent repair has to wait on a part. You pay only for the proper repair.

Our guarantee

Workmanship: 12 months from the date of the work.
One exception: realigning or adjusting an existing door is guaranteed for 3 months, because an old, worn door can move again within the year through no fault of ours.
Parts carry their own guarantees: 10 years on five-lever mortice locks, 5 years on three-lever mortice locks, 3 years on euro cylinders, 2 years on night latches and rim cylinders, and a 12-month manufacturer minimum on everything else.

This guarantee is a promise on top of your legal rights, not a limit on them.

Identification for a lockout

When we let you into a property you are locked out of, we check your identification once you are inside. We open the door first, because the documents are nearly always on the other side of it.

We ask for two: one with a photograph, such as a passport or driving licence, and one showing the address, such as a tenancy agreement, bank statement or utility bill.

Insurance and standards

Public liability insurance to £1 million.
Trading Standards Approved Trader.
Vetted member of the UK Locksmiths Association.
Member of the Perth & Kinross Better Business Partnership.
The euro cylinders we fit as standard are anti-snap and certified to EN 1303, so also drill, pick and pull resistant. Cylinders third-party tested to TS007 3-star or Sold Secure Diamond can be supplied, but must be ordered specifically.
