Terms of Business
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern the supply of locksmith services and products by Scotia Locksmiths (“we”, “us”, “our”) to you, the customer (“you”, “your”). By booking or purchasing our services, you agree to these Terms.
2. Services
We provide services including emergency entry, lock repair/replacement, new installations, security product fitting, and home security surveys. Auto locksmith services may be introduced at a later date.
3. Prices & Payment
Prices will be confirmed before work begins.
No call-out fee is charged.
Payment is due upon completion of the work, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Quotes are valid for 7 days unless stated otherwise.
4. Cancellations & Refunds
You may cancel your booking at anytime if work has not yet started, in line with consumer regulations.
Once work has been carried out, cancellations are not possible, but your statutory rights regarding faulty goods/services remain unaffected.
Refunds for goods will only be provided if the items are faulty or not as described.
5. Warranty
All parts are covered by a 12-month warranty
All labour is covered by a 3-month warranty
This does not cover issues caused by misuse, wear and tear, or unauthorised repairs
6. Liability
We always aim to use non-destructive methods when gaining entry. However, if destructive methods are required, we are not liable for resulting damage where unavoidable.
We are not responsible for pre-existing faults, poorly fitted or faulty third-party equipment, or issues outside our control.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
7. Customer responsibilities
You must provide accurate information and safe access to the property.
You are responsible for ensuring you have permission to authorise work on the premises.
8. Data Protection
We will handle your personal information securely and in line with our Privacy Policy and UK GDPR requirements.
9. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failure to deliver services caused by events outside our reasonable control (e.g. extreme weather, power failure, accidents, strikes).
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland and subject to the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
